CLUEDO 1949 SMALL BLACK BOX EDITION

I stand to be corrected as usual but I believe this was THE Original CLUEDO box. Smaller and deeper than the bigger and better known boxes, the board came with it as a separate item. I do not have the board with this version but it was just the standard floor plan board.
One thing I do like about this version is the small "bloody" fingerprint on the back of the play cards.
I believe (though stand to be corrected AGAIN) that this is the only set to feature this fingerprint.

The box inside consists of compartments to hold the cards, weapons, tokens, detective notes, murder envelope, dice and shaker.
The weapons are a fine lot although unfortunately three are broken. Although broken in three places this candlestick looks very impressive. The lead piping is, of course, real lead and even the rope is neat.
So, a great little set and the start of something BIG!!!!!
