CLUEDO CD ROM ON THREE CD'S (1997)
CLICK ON THE THUMBNAIL TO OPEN THE LARGER PICTURE
A live action CD-Rom version of CLUEDO. Published in the United Kingdom but using the American Version. Reverend Green is Mr. Green, the Spanner is the Wrench and so on...
There are three CDs with 12 mysteries to solve. although there are only three different storylines each has four levels of difficulty - Novice, Detective, Sleuth & Expert. Each level has a different solution making 12!! Clever, eh??
I am not familiar with the majority of the cast although I did recognise John Standing as Colonel Mustard and dear Joan Sims as Mrs. White.
The three mysteries are entitled Deadly Patent, The Road to Damascus & Blackmail.
Movement in the game is similar to the CLUEDO CHRONICLES with arrows pointing in the direction you wish to go.
As you walk around the rooms you will find the six suspects scattered about. They always remain in the same room during the game. By moving the mouse around the room you can discover information. If the cursor turns to a magnifying glass there is an item to be found. A weapon or other evidence. In each room is a clock. By moving the mouse onto the clock the cursor changes to a camera. When you click, a movie is played which shows the action that went on in that particular room earlier. This way you can check on evidence that you have found in that room. For example you could find some blood in the room. By clicking on the clock and watching the movie, you can ascertain how the blood came to be there. If you can find no explanation for this, then the room you are in is most likely the murder room. Any evidence found in a room that cannot be explained away will always be the murder room.
You can question suspects by clicking on them. The cursor will now change into a question mark. Always come back and re question suspects for they may not tell all they know first time.
There are also secret passages to find which may or may not hold clues. A notebook automatically records information you have found.
When you think you have the solution to the mystery you must return to the room in which you think the murder was committed, click on the bell on the wall, the cursor changes to a bell icon, and make your accusation. The amount of accusations you can make in one game depends on the difficulty level you are playing.
All in all this is a fantastic version of CLUEDO and is only marred by the fact that when you have solved all 12 mysteries there are no more. A pity!!! :)
