CLUE - 24 EDITION (2009)
This special version of CLUE is based on the TV Series 24. Sadly, I have never seen this programme so cannot comment on anything in it. But the set is a nice looking one. The rules are basically the same as the 2008 Discover The Secrets version of CLUEDO, so I won't go into that again but here come the 24 versions of the cards and pieces.
The suspects are all characters from the series, one of whom is now a traitor.
This time there are no weapons but actions. For example, you can pick the satellite and claim the suspect scrambled satellite signals. The cards give the information required but when making suggestions (or starting rumours!) it may be hard to remember what each action of each weapon is.
Having not seen the series, I don't recognise any of the rooms - or locations.
As in the 2008 version, there are now "Intrigue" Cards which are drawn in the same way - this time however the eight clocks are now eight 3 hour countdowns and the eighth card means 24 hours is up and you're out of the game. This eighth countdown card is put back into the pack and can be drawn numerous times meaning all players could lose the game.
The centre of the board is the Command Centre. This is where the weapons are stored at the start of play, any spare cards are dealt & where you have to go to make a final accusation.
Once again, there are Personality Cards giving each player one power which they can use once within a game.
The pawns are small cards slotted into plastic bases. The first six showing the front aspect & the seventh showing the rear...
...and the weapons are silver.
The detective notes are pretty smart and are shown below with the solution holder.
The rule book is similar to the 2008 version and the 24 logo also appears on the box insert.
Nice set, but it's about time we got a Doctor Who themed set in England!
