CLUE JUNIOR

THE CASE OF THE MISSING TOYS (1995)

CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS TO OPEN THE LARGER PICTURE

Like the CLUE Junior books, the kids became modern in the 1995 version of CLUE Junior as opposed to the more charming versions in the earlier 1989 version of the game. Only four characters now remained namely Samantha Scarlet, Mortimer Mustard, Peter Plum and, in a change of sex, Greta Green.

Similar in idea to 2003s CLUEDO Junior - The Case of The Missing Chocolate Cake this time you have to work out which pet stole which toy and is hiding with it inside the club house. Like the 2003 edition this uses 10 plastic bases, 5 green and 5 orange. The green bases have one toy each on their underside - A Glove, Teddy Bear, Roller Skate, Truck & Ball. The orange bases have the five pets involved - The Dog, Rabbit, Fish, Cat & Bird.

There are also four neighbourhood places - a Lemonade Stand, Birdhouse, Mailbox & Tree House.

To begin the game you take the four sleuths and, after mixing up the five orange bases face down, place one sleuth in four of the bases. You then do the same with the green bases placing one each of the four neighbourhood places in four of the bases. The remaining single orange and green bases are placed face down in the club house and placed at the side of the board.

The board shows the neighbourhood and you place the four neighbourhood places in their appropriate places and the club house next to the board where an arrow points the way.

When a character land on one of the neighbourhood spaces, signified by the red arrow, they can check to see which toy is there and cross that off their detective note sheet. An exact roll is not necessary. The dice has the numbers 2,2,3 & 4 plus a skate board and magnifying glass. The numbers are normal movement, however the skate board means you can move to any square on the board and a magnifying glass means you can look under any other players piece to see which pet is there and cross it off your sheet. If you land on another players piece you can also check under their piece for information.

Once you know the solution you can check the two bases in the club house to check your solution. Simple as that.
