CLUE JUNIOR BOOK SERIES (1994 - 1998)

Released two years after the original CLUE series, these CLUE JR. books were aimed at the younger market. The first seven books featured younger versions of the regular characters, namely, Samantha Scarlet, Mortimer Mustard, Wendy White, Georgie Green, Polly Peacock & Peter Plum. These six "lovable" kiddies solved eight mysteries per book. You look for clues in the stories and pictures. Actually, in most cases the picture is enough on its own to solve the case, but hey!! it is for younger kids.

From book eight to book thirteen there were a few changes. The kids went modern!!!! Gone were the CLUE style costumes they were wearing in the earlier books. Gone were Polly Peacock and Wendy White leaving only four sleuths. Mortimer Mustard suddenly became dark skinned and Peter Plum joined the ranks of kids who don't know how to dress themselves properly and wore his baseball cap backwards. Georgie Green suddenly had a sex change and became Greta Green. Only Samantha Scarlet was untouched. I guess it was lucky the series ended when it did as we were spared the spectacle of Mustard and Plum wearing jeans halfway down their backsides and hooded jackets calling all their friends "Man" and "Dude" and rapping out clues!
