CLUEDO MYSTERIES Volume One (2003)
CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS TO OPEN THE LARGER PICTURE
Fifteen short stories written by
Vicki Cameron in which you have to read the story and, from the clues, discover
the culprit.
John Boddy is killed and each story ends with a character accusing another
player of the murder and with which weapon and in which room, so all you, the
reader, has to do is name the culprit. e.g. The first story, Carte Blanche, ends
with Mrs. White saying "I accuse you of shooting Mr. Boddy in the Library with
the Revolver". After you make your accusation of the murderer you turn the page
and the solution is there.
Now, I don't want to give too much away but the reason for the murder in the
first story is so absurd that I hope the others improve.
The character descriptions within the book don't tally up with the pictures on
the book cover. Reverend Green is Mr. Green as usual but is a Parson?????
Oh I'm getting confused now!! :) Plus, the description of Colonel Mustard
with "White Hair, Mutton Chop Whiskers and Moustache" does tend to sum up the
Colonel of the 1996 CLUE and
MYSTERY BEYOND THE MANSION card game instead of the younger Mustard as
depicted on the front of the book.
All that said, the mysteries are quite fun to solve and the continual comments on Mrs. White's cooking, the sly behaviour of Parson Green and the tendency for Colonel Mustard to "poke" at Mr. Boddy's corpse with his riding crop are all good sources of amusement.
