CLUEDO PARTY (2006)

CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS TO OPEN THE LARGER PICTURE

Well, I can take you through some of this but not all as I shall reveal. Sadly most of the cards that come with this game cannot be read until the night of the party otherwise it will spoil the game and my five Live CLUEDO playing friends are all split up over different parts of the country now so very hard to arrange a get together any more.

Basically, there are two murder mysteries to play. One for 6 people, the other for 8. Whoever is the host has to make all the arrangements and send out the invites. Holding back one for themself, the host decides who will play each part and send out an invitation to each. The invitation opens up to reveal the character each person will play and some information about that character so the players can prepare for their role by getting into character and wearing appropriate clothing on the night. The invites are sent out in the supplied envelopes.

On the day of the party, the host prepares. Each suspect has an envelope and mystery cards. The mystery cards for mystery 1 are for six players and are coloured green. Each player has five numbered cards and these are placed in the envelope unread. These are instructions and actions for the player concerned. In mystery 2 the cards are red and, as there are 8 players, each player gets nine numbered cards. N.B. I have distorted the information on the green card so as not to give anything away. The design on the back of the character envelopes is displayed here.

The nine room cards for each mystery are placed unread into their respective envelopes. As can be seen the back of each envelope shows the picture of the room. These are placed in appropriate places around the room/house. The rules suggest the Library card in a bookcase as a for instance.

The detective notes are split into four time zones. It was at one of these times that the murder was committed. The character mystery cards include times so these can be checked when interrogating.

The six weapons have to be laid out on a handy table. There is a fingerprint on each weapon and a clue which can only be read with a special magnifying glass. There seems to be only one fingerprint so not sure how this works for two mysteries.

When the guests arrive they are given their character card. As for the first mystery it is the usual six suspects. On mystery 2 they are joined by Lady Lavender & Lord Gray.

Each suspect is then given their identity card, which is a distinguishing front to be worn all night. These are quite fun and, as I normally play Mrs. Peacock in Live CLUEDO, I would have to have breasts for the night :)))

The rule book cover shows two people in character.

And then the party starts. Unfortunately, this is where I have to run out as there is a CD which takes you through the mystery and you are not allowed to listen to that until the night either. There is also a print section on the CD to download the extra items you need for the 8 person mystery. The CD and track listing are shown below.

So that's it. If anyone plays this before me, send me a report!
