Deadly Patent
Level 1 - Novice
In this game, Miss Scarlett & Mr. Green are to be found in the LOUNGE, Mrs. White & Mrs. Peacock in the BALLROOM, Colonel Mustard in the BILLIARD ROOM and Professor Plum in the STUDY.
Candlesticks - Found in the KITCHEN. One clean, one with Professor Plum's fingerprints.
Gun - Found hidden in the LIBRARY. Fingerprints of Mr. Green & Colonel Mustard.
Knife - Found in the BALLROOM. Fingerprints of Mrs. Peacock & Professor Plum.
Lead Pipe - Found in the BILLIARD ROOM. Fingerprints of Mr. Green & Colonel Mustard.
Rope - Found in the DINING ROOM. No fingerprints.
Wrench - Found in the HALL. Fingerprints of Mrs. White & Mrs. Peacock.
No problem with this one. No need to check on the alibis at the time of the murder. The revolver was hidden, a suspicious circumstance in the very least. Green and Mustard's fingerprints on the weapon. Interviewing Colonel Mustard he admits to handling the gun - Mr. Green is not so honest. He claims not to have seen the gun at all, hence the murderer and weapon are identified. The clue to the room involved is Mr. Boddy's blood in the DINING ROOM. There is no explanation for this and is therefore the murder room. The solution is:-
MR. GREEN with the GUN in the DINING ROOM.
In this game, Mrs. White is to be found in the LOUNGE, Mrs. Peacock & Colonel Mustard in the DINING ROOM, Mr. Green in the KITCHEN, Miss Scarlett in the BILLIARD ROOM and Professor Plum once again in the STUDY.
Candlesticks - Found in the KITCHEN. One clean, one with Professor Plum's fingerprints.
Gun - Found in the BALLROOM. Fingerprints of Mr. Green & Colonel Mustard.
Knife - Found in the BALLROOM. Fingerprints of Mrs. Peacock & Professor Plum.
Lead Pipe - Found in the BILLIARD ROOM. Fingerprints of Mr. Green & Colonel Mustard.
Rope - Found in the DINING ROOM. No fingerprints.
Wrench - Found hidden in the LOUNGE. Fingerprints of Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock & Professor Plum.
This is another fairly straight forward one. Once again, a weapon is hidden, this time it is the wrench in the LOUNGE. Mrs. White & Mrs. Peacock both admit to handling it but Professor Plum claims never to have seen it despite his fingerprints being on it. The clue to the room this time is a pint of milk spilt on the KITCHEN floor. There is no explanation for this. The solution is:-
PROFESSOR PLUM with the WRENCH in the KITCHEN.
In this game, Miss Scarlett & Mr. Green are to be found in the LOUNGE, Mrs. Peacock & Colonel Mustard in the DINING ROOM and Mrs. White & Professor Plum in the KITCHEN.
Candlesticks - Found in the KITCHEN. One clean, one with Professor Plum's fingerprints.
Gun - Found in the BALLROOM. Fingerprints of Mr. Green & Colonel Mustard.
Knife - Found hidden in the CONSERVATORY. Wiped clean.
Lead Pipe - Found in the BILLIARD ROOM. Fingerprints of Mr. Green & Colonel Mustard.
Rope - Found in the DINING ROOM. No fingerprints.
Wrench - Found in the HALL. Fingerprints of Mrs. White & Mrs. Peacock.
This one I actually found harder that the Expert level. The Knife was found hidden in the CONSERVATORY, wiped clean even though others had handled it. There were two clues in this story. Mr. Boddy's blood on the billiard table and the duster from the BILLIARD ROOM bearing signs of blood hidden behind a cushion in the LOUNGE. The alibi had to be broken in this story. Miss Scarlett was the last to enter the STUDY where news of Mr. Boddy's death came through and Colonel Mustard was the last to enter the CONSERVATORY. One of these two was the murderer. However, Miss Scarlett had alibis for the time leading up to the murder too and Colonel Mustard was conspicuous by his absence from the bridge game in the LOUNGE, so the answer was clear. The solution is:-
COLONEL MUSTARD with the KNIFE in the BILLIARD ROOM.
In this game, Mr. Green is to be found in the DINING ROOM, Professor Plum & Mrs. White in the KITCHEN and Miss Scarlett, Mrs. Peacock & Colonel Mustard in the BILLIARD ROOM.
Candlesticks - One found in the KITCHEN with Professor Plum's fingerprints. One found in the DINING ROOM, clean but dented.
Wrench - Found in the HALL. Fingerprints of Mrs. White & Mrs. Peacock.
This one should be the hardest of the four but is still fairly easy to solve with good concentration. One of the Candlesticks is found dented but there is no explanation of how this denting occurred. The clue to the room is the overturned stool and magazines on the floor of the LOUNGE. The finding of the murderer is down to the alibis. Plum and Scarlett were in the STUDY and confirm each others stories. The other four characters were all in the CONSERVATORY. Interviewing the suspects you discover that White, Mustard and Green all confirm that Mrs. Peacock arrived last, however Mrs. Peacock herself claims that the men arrived after her. Her guilt is confirmed. The solution is :-
MRS. PEACOCK with the CANDLESTICK in the LOUNGE.
