TOTALLY UNKNOWN "DETECTIVE" CLUEDO GAME (CIRCA 1960'S)

Well, this one has me totally baffled from start to finish. It's basically English CLUEDO and, judging from the parts, from the 1960's. And, of course, CLUEDO has always been called that in this country and this is clearly called DETECTIVE. So, I'm guessing that it is from an English speaking country. There is only one clue to the country of origin and that is the words "A DARTEN PRODUCT" on the bottom right hand corner of the box. Unusually, there is no date of manufacture, no publishing address on the back of the rules sheet and no country of origin. A mystery worthy of a CLUEDO game. The only other place I have seen this is on a New Zealand Ebay-type page so could possibly be from there or Australia - but again was always under the impression that the game was called CLUEDO in both countries.

So on to the game. It is a standard sixties set of cards but with DETECTIVE adorning the back.

The board, too, is a typical sixties board but the rooms are pink rather than the usual yellow.

The detective notes are the old white card type. The rule book states that this is "Elm House". Maybe a clue to the country of origin there??

Finally, the solution envelope is white with the words "Murder Envelope" rather badly printed onto a flimsy white holder.

So there you are. A very unusual version of CLUEDO. If anyone has any information on this version, I would love to know a little more about it.
