DUNHILL CLUEDO (2003)
CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS TO OPEN THE LARGER PICTURE
What a classy version of CLUEDO! Normally, I would use the box of a game as the main picture but this version comes in a (very) large box with the Dunhill logo printed on it and doesn't sum up the grandeur of the game within.
Originally selling for the princely sum of £3000 I managed to obtain it from Ebay at a greatly reduced price. As you open the ribbon hinged box you find a large black felt bag inside. This houses the board which covers the inner storage area.
The board is in coloured calf leather and comes with red & white squares. The Billiard Room uses green baize. The inner box holds all the pieces.
The weapons are silver and that, thankfully, includes the rope. The character. room & weapon cards all have their own compartments as do the detective notes. These come on smaller than normal pads and quite a thick amount of them. Each sheet can be used for 14 games so almost a never ending supply of them.
There are two red dice supplied and these come with two dark red calf skin dice shakers and a calf skin solutions holder.
The actual playing pieces are superb with silver character heads on appropriately coloured bases.
The cards are a standard set but, like the Nostalgia CLUEDO, the Lead Piping is just referred to as the Lead Pipe. The only difference here is the inclusion of the Dunhill logo on the back of the cards.
There is rule book with, of course, the good ol' Dunhill logo on its cover.
And that's about it really. It's a really beautiful set. Personally, I don't think it is as impressive as the Franklin Mint version which sold for a lot less, but great all the same.
And, lastly, if you need to see it again, there is a last Dunhill logo at the bottom of the box.
