CLUEDO GERMAN VERSION (circa)1951

Right!!! First things first. I'm not 100% sure of the date of this game, but it does contain the original CLUEDO set of cards and the game rules are dated 1951, but that is possibly just the copyright year that CLUEDO originally went on sale in Germany. Also, the cards have the bloody fingerprint on the back as they were on the original small black box CLUEDO, so maybe 1951 IS the correct date! Can anyone out there enlighten me???

But to the game. The suspects are the original design, but in German. Mrs Peacock is Frau Frohlich and so on.

The weapons are also identical but have a blue tint to the pictures. The spanner is now the Schraubenschlussel. Thankfully, the revolver is still the revolver :)

The room cards and playing board are the standard floor design pattern.

Like the small box original CLUEDO, the weapons are a good set. This also has an enormous Candlestick. The Dagger, unfortunately, is snapped in two and the Rope looks suspiciously like a long piece of string, but at least it isn't plastic.

One last thing that tends me to think that 1951 IS the date for this game is the plain white detective notes, predominant in the earliest CLUEDO games.

This is a great set and nice to have a different language version of the original game.
