Now. This really is not CLUEDO/CLUE. But it is a game that involves finding out which suspect stole which ancient artifact and hid it in which room. It does sound very familiar but is produced by Standard Publishing in Ohio. Maybe so that it doesn't look like a complete rip off of CLUEDO, the suspects are not colour coded but just various people that you would find in a museum.

The other difference to a normal game is that there are only 8 rooms instead of a more normal 9.

The six artifacts complete the set of cards for this version.

The playing pieces are card and placed in white plastic bases & the artifacts come on small card discs. Any playing pieces not used are kept at the side of the board until used for a suggestion. The artifact discs are placed randomly in rooms as in the normal game.

The board is slightly different design to normal with only three corner rooms, the fourth corner just used for the name of the game. And instead of secret passages, each corner room has an open window with a ladder outside which you can use to move to either of the other corner rooms as one move.

Unlike normal CLUEDO games, there is a centre room, The Cloakroom, and the six start spaces, not colour coded of course, are dotted around this room. Also, another possible first, is that each start space is exactly 5 spaces away from a room so everyone has an equal chance of arriving at a room on their first move.

There is artifact information on the rule sheet taken from the New International version of the bible but, as religion normally makes me run a mile, I ignore that. There are the normal pad of detective notes & The Police Case file for the cards.

So, not a bad version but I wonder of the makers of CLUEDO/CLUE actually gave permission for this or did the non colour coding/8 Rooms idea make a difference. Would be good to know!
