When I first got this game I realised that there were twelve murder mysteries so each suspect and weapon would be used twice each. After thinking about it though, I knew that this would not be so as, after eleven games, you would know the suspect and weapon of the last game to be played. Eventually I was proved right.
Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. White, Mr. Green & Professor Plum were each the murderer on two occasions. Miss Scarlett only murdered once, but the killer of killers was Colonel Mustard with three deaths to his credit.
Similarly, the Candlestick, Knife, Rope & Wrench were used for murder twice each, the Lead Piping once only and the gun shot Mr. Boddy three times.
Each of the nine rooms staged a murder with only the Billiard Room, Kitchen & Study being used twice.
I was terribly sad when I finished the twelfth game and I knew there weren't any more. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I do have a couple of quibbles (of course).
In some ways I wish it had been 12 completely different mysteries as I found myself getting fed up with listening to the same evidence over and over again and it would have been nice if the weapons had always been found in different places. It was fairly easy to spot the weapon, even in the Expert phase as it was normally the weapon that wasn't in the place it had been in the previous three levels.
Plus, Miss Scarlett is a favourite of mine along with Mrs. Peacock and I wish one of my two least favourite characters, Plum and White, had only been the murderer on one occasion.
Last quibble is nothing to do with the game. Unfortunately, the game was made for Windows 95 and I have Windows XP. I had to keep saving the game I was playing almost every time I moved rooms as the game had a habit of crashing. Still, I managed to get through all 12 eventually!
But, still, all in all it was great fun and I only wish I had another three or four volumes to play. One of my best E-Bay purchases!
Come on Hasbro - let's have another!!!
