CLUEDO PASSPORT TO MURDER(2000)

This is the second most expensive CLUEDO in my collection which cost me just over £80. In most respects, it was well worth it but just a couple of unfavourable comments to follow.
Firstly, this game is played in exactly the same way as the 1986 Super Cluedo Challenge, which is a shame as that is probably one of the weakest special edition Cluedo's. My comments on that game can be seen on the appropriate page. Even more so for this version as the playing cards are wonderful and I miss making accusations with them. Like the afore mentioned version, the cards just seem to be picked up, looked at and then not used any more which is a great shame.
But, hey, it's not all bad. The board itself is magnificent featuring the layout of the train and the accompanying rooms around it.
The weapons are probably the nicest set I have seen though this does lead me to my second complaint...they just DO NOT fit into the small holders and you have to balance them precariously except, of course, the free standing candlestick and bottle of poison.
With Super Cluedo Challenge, all nine characters are used as playing pieces. With this version just the six normal suspects are used. Instead of blue counters with numbers indicating which clue has been found, this version uses small blue luggage counters with different symbols instead of numbers and instead of having these listed on a wipe clean detective notes sheet these are listed on a mock passport as can be seen on this example.
And this time, instead of four items of garden furniture with clues on you have to seek out either a Newspaper Seller, Sandwich Board Carrier, Engine Driver or Conductor.
The playing pieces are made of plastic in different colour bases.
So, overall, the game is highly decorative and enjoyable, it is just the premise of the game that leaves me a bit cold. I have actually played it once as a normal game just going into rooms and making accusations instead of using the luggage as clues and found it much better.
Oh, and on a final note, the cards DO fit into the three murder holders a lot easier in this version. These ones open like a book.
