VIMTO CLUEDO (2008)

Well, here we have another specialist CLUEDO to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the fruit drink, Vimto, invented in 1908 by John Noel Nichols in Manchester. This time a special cake baked for the 100th celebration party has gone missing and you have to discover who ate the cake, in which room and washed down with which Vimto drink!

The rule book is larger than normal with 16 pages and gives a brief history of Vimto.

Each of the rooms are parts of the Vimto factory. The rule book also gives a brief description of each room.

The rule book also gives you a run down on the latest suspects.

Once again we have a slight change of colour with the Green character becoming female and the Peacock character becoming male. Also, the colouring now is more purple than blue.

The board is again nicely detailed but there are some real advantages and disadvantages depending on which character you play. Miss Redgrape & Colonel Cordial have the biggest advantage as they only require a roll of 6 to get into their first room. Bella Beverage & Fizzy Lizzy both require a whacking 10 to get into their first room. Professor Purple needs 7 while Sydney Shlurper requires 8. There is also a start square change with the blue character now staring where Plum would normally start and the purple character starting between what would normally be the Billiard Room & Library.

As previously stated, there are no weapons but 6 different Vimto drinks.

There are no normal plastic playing pieces. Just six character pieces that fit into white bases and six drink pieces that fit into purple bases. The front of each shows the character/drink the rear shows the name.

So basically, that's it. The picture below shows the inside of the box proudly showing, once again, the Vimto name, the card holder and detective notes. And, yes, even the die is purple!

I've never seen this game for sale in any local shops, so guessing, like the Leeds Centenary version it's only ever been available in the relevant town.
